Englishman’s Castle is an independent furniture store in leatherhead, Surrey. Established as a retailer of quality furniture specialising in famous brand names such as Parker Knoll, Andrena, Collins and Hayes, Corndell, Ercol, GPlan, Peter Guild, Alstons, Vale/Bridgecraft, Cintique, David Gundry, Village Homestyle, Michael Tyler, Daneway, Nathan, The English Home Collection, Sherborne, Stuart Jones, Hypnos, Sealy, Tempur, Woodside and many more.

A family run and owned business, which has been trading for nearly sixty years. Englishman’s Castle enjoys a reputation for excellent customer service and very competitive prices, regularly running special promotions and sales with discounts better than you will see in most of the department stores. Knowledgeable and friendly sales staff can advise and reassure customers on design, colours, and fabrics in our 6000sq ft showroom located very easily in Leatherhead Town centre - Leatherhead is just a couple of miles from junction 9 of the M25 and also sits on the A24 and A25 making it easily reached from the surrounding towns.

Our extensive showrooms are constantly being updated with new models so that there is always something new to see. We try to show a varied selection of furniture so you will see modern / contemporary designs along with more traditional classics. The emphasis is on British manufacturers and where possible promote furniture made in the UK.

We supply Leather sofas and Chairs as well as fabric. We can have furniture made in exclusive fabrics and to special sizes. Many of our dining/cabinet and bedroom furniture ranges can be made in a range of woods and stains.

We are specialists in lift and rise reclining chairs for the elderly or disabled and can reimburse VAT where applicable. We keep stock of Lift and Rise recliners available for immediate delivery for customers who require one urgently, otherwise if customers wish to select their choice of fabric, we can usually have the lift and rise recliners made in their choice of material within two weeks.

Reclining chairs and sofas are a speciality, whether motorised of manual. We carry recliners from the following manufacturers - Parker Knoll, GPlan, Ercol and swivel recliners by Daneway.

Our most popular and best selling reclining sofa is the Albany by Parker Knoll. Since this model was introduced earlier this year it has sold in great numbers – outselling all of our other reclining furniture, both in leather and fabric, its modern contemporary design has become our number one.

We have a dedicated showroom of Collins and Hayes with the best selection of models on display in Surrey. In addition to a varied selection of luxurious and comfortable sofas and chairs we usually have several ‘Promotional’ Collins and Hayes designs on display which attract 30% discount when ordered in ‘Promotional’ fabrics making the price very affordable.

Our Parker Knoll Studio holds a varied selection of the current Parker Knoll range. We have been Parker Knoll specialists for decades and enjoy a good working relationship with the factory, which is now located in Long Eaton. The timeless designs that they are known for are still best sellers, their new designs such as Albany, Madison and Burghley are attracting new customers who are familiar with the Parker knoll brand but didn’t realise that some of their models are modern in design.

Ercol Furniture is a strong brand for Englishmans Castle, attracting customers from a wide area who visit our store in Leatherhead. We show a wide range of Ercol in our showroom including The Windsor dining and occasional ranges, Pinto, Artisan, Mantua, Bosco, Torino and sofas from the Ravenna range.

Torino is a new range in American Light Oak. It is very competitively priced making it more affordable to customers who thought that Ercol was not in their price range. We also have a wide selection of Ercol Bedroom furniture on display from the Bosco, Savona and Paladina range.

GPlan Upholstery is well represented at Englishman's Castle. We show Sofas in different sizes and fabrics, Leather sofas and recliners, new models such as Washington and Florence, which are available in many different sizes. The Malvern, Chloe and Mistral are still out best sellers. There is a vast choice of fabrics and leathers in both modern and traditional designs. Lead times for GPlan are often down to five weeks, which is very good for the industry.

For more traditional sofas and chairs in sumptious fabrics Peter Guild and David Gundry cannot be beaten. The tailoring is detailed and impeccable. David Gundry models are classic and timeless, Peter Guild offers traditional and Classic designs and examples from both manufacturers are on display.

If you are looking for comfort along with superb modern design, Michael Tyler is an excellent choice. We currently have on display the Ibis corner seating units and the Mia Sofa and chair. Flexible in size, with lots of options, such as a built in corner coffee table if required – or the Milano range, very eye catching and looks particularly good in leather. The range of fabric choices from Michael Tyler is especially good. Their Mia chair either fixed or on a swivel base cannot be bettered for comfort.

Tetrad combines exceptional quality, attention to detail and expert craftsmanship to create beautifully comfortable, eye catching sofas and chairs. With a choice of fabric and leather and a wide range of models, there is something for everyone. All this means that can you sit comfortably in the knowledge that your sofa will last long into the future. Currently we have the contemporary Evo and the Bogart sofa located on the top floor.

Alstons Upholstery is well represented on our mezzanine floor. Currently we have a selection of seven different models including sofabeds. Their fabric choices are varied with wonderful bold eye catching designs for the wow factor along with simple plain chenille and weaves. Each model comes in several sizes and many of their ranges feature an ‘accent chair and sofa’ for customers with limited space.

In the bedroom department at Englishman’s Castle we have on permanent display a selection of wardrobes by Disselkamp. The range is extensive and coordinated, ideal for customers who require lots of bedroom storage with the option of matching beds and chests. Available in a huge selection of sizes and in different wood finishes, can even be built in under sloping ceilings and eaves. They give a modern contemporary look to your bedroom, beautifully built, in situ and with a five-year guarantee – built to last.

At Englishmans Castle in Leatherhead we display a selection of divan beds and mattresses from Hypnos, Sealy and Tempur.

The Hypnos Heritage range available in soft, regular and firm tension in all sizes including special sizes. The zip and link feature available on the larger models is a firm favourite with customers who prefer the more traditional pocket sprung beds.

Sealy have a huge selection of beds to choose from including the new Posturepedic range, featuring their most technically advanced toss and turn free zone technology offering comfort, support and pressure relief along with temperature control & moisture management. 

Tempur Beds – the originator of the memory foam mattress is still a firm favourite with customers who are concerned about circulation, pressure and support. For more information about Tempur beds please follow the link to their website.

Englishman's Castle attracts customers from all over the Surrey area. We would say that 70% of our customers are from the following towns - Dorking, Epsom and Ewell, Guildford, Ashtead, Fetcham, Bookham, Woking, Oxshott and Cobham.

A further 20% are from Banstead, Claygate, Chessington, Stoneleigh, Goldalming, Chertsey, Twickenham and even Richmond.

The remaining 10% can live as far away as the South Coast and North London. These customers come to us to take advantage of our competitive prices and excellent product knowledge, along with our extensive and varied display.   

There is a car park opposite the store and a number of free on street parking bays directly outside the store.
